Municipal Authority

The Municipal Authority consists of seven members who are residents of the Township and appointed by the Board of Supervisors to five year terms. The primary responsibility of the Authority is the operation and maintenance of the Township’s water and sewer systems.

The Municipal Authority meets on the FOURTH Thursday of each month. Meetings start at 6:30 pm at the Maxatawny Township Municipal Building 127 Quarry Road, Kutztown, PA 19530

MTMA Office Hours
Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday – 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.

**FOR ALL MTMA SEWER CUSTOMERS - If you plan on using a large amount of water for events such as filling a pool/hot tub, watering new grass, pressure washing or any other excessive use that does not enter the sewer system, per MTMA Resolution you may request an adjustment to the sewer portion of your bill. You must contact the MTMA office prior to the intended use for consideration of an adjustment. NO EXCEPTIONS!! This waiver is only intended to accommodate water use that does not reach the sewer system. The fee adjustment is intended for extraordinary use not for leaks, other malfunctions or ongoing excessive water use. You will only be granted one adjustment per calendar year.**
