Snow Removal Information

When removing snow from your driveways, please refrain from throwing the snow in the roadways of the Township.

The Township Road Department will treat roadways with salt and cinders for ice and minor accumulations of snow.

For accumulations in excess of two inches, all roadways will be plowed until at leas one lane is opened. When the snowfall has ceased, the Road Department will continue to plow until the full width of all roadways are open.

During plowing operations, snow is pushed to the right side of the roadway which may block driveways and parked cars. Residents are advised to wait, if possible, until plowing operations are complete before removing snow from driveways and parked cars. If it is necessary to open driveways before snow plowing is complete, snow should be piled to the left side of the driveway to avoid the plow from pushing the snow back onto cleared driveways. It is also advisable to clear snow for several feet to the right side of the driveway along the roadway.

Snow from the plows will always fall onto cleared areas. If you park along the roadway, you can assist the Road Department by moving your car until your roadway has been cleared. Property owners may find it necessary to remove snow in front of their mailbox to permit delivery vehicles to access the mailbox.
